Community Engagement
Community engaged research means working with groups who live near each other or care about similar things, like tics and compulsivity. These groups want to improve everyone’s well-being. Community members influence research in many ways. For example, they give input on specific studies, help recruit participants, decide about future research, create research questions, and help distribute resources.
MnTiC Lab engages people living with Tourette and OCD and their caregivers to improve everything we do.
Including:
- Sensitivity to community needs and norms
- Creating warm and welcoming space
- Research procedure development and refinement
- Study participant recruitment and retention
- Data collection and analysis
- Dissemination of research findings and applications
