Welcome!
We are a research group focused on tic disorders/Tourette Syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), compulsivity, and related conditions. We are dedicated to advancing the scientific understanding of these conditions, developing new and improved treatments, and providing empowering information and education that fosters inclusion and counteracts stigma. Our approach emphasizes partnership with "lived experience experts" to ensure that our research is responsive to the needs of the Tourette and OCD communities.
National Designation
Since its inception, MnTiC Lab has focused on integrating exceptional clinical care, impactful research, and broad community engagement and education to serve local and national Tourette communities. In February 2026, our program was designated a Tourette Center of Excellence by the Tourette Association of America (TAA): the only one in Minnesota, 1 of 3 in the Midwest, and 1 of 27 in the country. We appreciate this recognition of our hard work!
At the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain, we treat local Minnesota families and conduct patient-centered research on the diagnosis and treatment of Tourette. As experts in Tourette research and practicing clinicians, lab leaders use their robust experience to inform their research, train the next generation of clinicians, and effectively disseminate findings. Our Patient Advisory Board, organizational friends, social media channels, and quarterly newsletter help us stay in touch and provide information in engaging and accessible ways.
